The G City Club Hotel @ Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur

5:36 PM

Last month, my friend and I spent a night of complimentary stay at The G City Club Hotel, a 5-star boutique style hotel that occupies three floors of G Tower (a RM470 million 'Green Building'), which is located at Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur.

It is ideally located at a prime spot within the city's business and commercial district. it takes only 5 minutes to walk to Ampang Park LRT Station. This place is perfect for business travellers as well as holiday makers.

The lobby is on Level 11. The concierge staff at the ground floor of G Tower will direct the guests to the reception. The staff are helpful and knowledgable. Check-in was fast. There is a outdoor swimming pool right outside from the reception's exit, offering views of Petronas Twin Towers, but with more commercial buildings developments booming within that area, this view might be blocked in the near future.

ROOM

My room was an oasis of calm, cozy and spacious with contemporary decor. Unlike conventional hotels, there is no dressing table in the room but there is a wide writing desk, great for reading, writing & using computers.

It features a flat screen cable tv, minibar, free wifi internet access, tea/coffee making facilities, iron, hair dryer and a safety deposit box. During my stay, I had some problem with the TV channels, the loading was not working at but the staff attended to my problem quite promptly.

I particularly like the bathroom that is attached to a changing room where I put all my bags and stuff. I did not have to get in and out just to get my stuff.

The toilet is well equipped with overhead rain shower, TV, bathroom scale, shampoo and stuff.

I did not really like the shampoo and shower gel. I don't know why but most local hotel's shampoo and shower gel are just not nice to use. I'd prefer something that lathers well with pleasant smell.

ELEMENTS GYM

Hotel guests are entitled to use the gym facilites at Elements Gym, located at level 7. This gym is also open for public, who can sign up different packages and programmes.

They also offer personal training sessions, variety of fitness classes to cater for different needs of users. I think this is a great place for work out. The day I went was a Saturday, there is not any big crowd there, but I was not sure if it is a weekday, especially after working hours. Well, for most people, one of the factor to consider when joining a gym, is whether they are able to use the facilities when they are there. Many gyms in KL are sharing the same problem, which is members can't use what they want to use when the gym is too packed with people.

Working out in a gym has indeed become a necessity in this decade, in view of our lifestyle and eating habits. As for ladies, with all the crimes happening in town, working out in a gym is always a safer option.

At anytime you want, you can walk out to the balcony and get a view of the city and the busy traffic around the area.

All in all, the G City Club Hotel is a great place that can offer a comfortable stay for both corporate and leisure. However, the hotel only welcome guests who are above 12 years old. This is perhaps not very family-friendly.

For food wise, there are not many choices offered, but you can always walk down to restaurants and eateries nearby whenever you are craving for something different.
