At Takayama, we stay at J-Hoppers Takayama, a Japanese style hostel. It is conveniently located 3 minutes from JR Takayama Station, and it has easy access to Shirakawago, the main spot that we want to go.


We took the private twin/triple room, Japanese style bedroom which is 3000 Yen/pax.
Most important thing is heater was working well.


There is no attached bathroom. Shower room, laundry, common area and kitchen are all located downstairs.

There are toilets and wash area in every floor. Hair dryer is provided too.

Bathroom... small but it was ok for me. Shampoo and shower cream provided are not bad in quality.

Kitchen area is well equipped. Apparently, the tap water is safe to be drank just like that.

This is a nice place to stay. Many budget travellers stayed here during their visit to Shirakawago, hot spring and some ski area nearby. It has everything that I needed, clean, convenient, free wifi and the staff are friendly. To use their PC was quite expensive though, 100 Yen for 30 minutes.
